Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Construction & Engineering and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 20.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV) was up 13.64% or 0.600 points to 5.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which lost 10.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 in late trade. Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) declined 10.00% or 50.00 points to end at 450.00 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) shed 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 70 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $47.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.70% or 0.37 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.69% or 9.21 to trade at $1339.61 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.56% to 197.125, while USD/LKR fell 0.31% to 152.360.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.53.
