Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Trading, Services and Motors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.06% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 15.38% or 8.00 points to end at 60.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 in late trade. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 24.19% or 375.00 points to end at 1175.00 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) shed 12.60% or 43.40 points to 301.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 63 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.38% or 0.22 to $57.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.06% or 0.04 to hit $63.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1268.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.33% to 205.200, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 153.040.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 93.01.
