Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Motors and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which rose 9.38% or 1.80 points to trade at 21.00 at the close. F L C Hydro Power PLC (CM:HYDP) added 8.82% or 0.60 points to end at 7.40 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 8.33% or 0.100 points to 1.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which lost 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) declined 8.54% or 7.80 points to end at 83.50 and Agstar PLC (CM:AGST) shed 7.02% or 0.40 points to 5.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 76 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.06% or 0.55 to $51.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.04% or 0.55 to hit $52.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.65 to trade at $1270.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 180.950, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 147.195.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 97.97.
