Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Services and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) added 16.99% or 7.00 points to end at 48.20 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which lost 24.61% or 319.90 points to trade at 980.10 in late trade. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) declined 21.32% or 17.10 points to end at 63.10 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) shed 20.62% or 9.90 points to 38.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 101 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.17% or 0.77 to $66.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.36% or 0.99 to hit $74.04 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1270.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.11% to 211.100, while USD/LKR fell 0.40% to 158.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 94.33.
