Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Banking, Financials & Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) added 25.00% or 26.90 points to end at 134.50 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was up 18.69% or 78.50 points to 498.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which lost 23.36% or 15.70 points to trade at 51.50 in late trade. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and ASCOT Holdings PLC (CM:ASCO) shed 9.88% or 3.40 points to 31.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 57 and 68 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.22% or 0.16 to $71.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $77.46 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1324.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.61% to 214.185, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 157.890.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 92.35.
