Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 16.67% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.7000 and Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) was up 14.75% or 159.40 points to 1240.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 24.29% or 3112.50 points to trade at 9700.00 in late trade. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 19.01% or 281.70 points to end at 1200.00 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) shed 17.21% or 201.70 points to 970.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 74 and 57 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.23% or 0.15 to $63.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $67.22 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.50 to trade at $1334.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 216.055, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 154.930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 89.73.
