Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Investment Trust and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) was up 16.47% or 70.00 points to 495.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which lost 23.88% or 357.60 points to trade at 1140.00 in late trade. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) declined 22.37% or 17.90 points to end at 62.10 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) shed 22.14% or 9.10 points to 32.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 88 and 46 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $64.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.33% or 0.23 to hit $68.53 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $1324.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.31% to 219.000, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 155.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 89.76.
