Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Motors and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which rose 17.82% or 59.00 points to trade at 390.00 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 16.94% or 4.20 points to end at 29.00 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 in late trade. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) declined 23.69% or 93.50 points to end at 301.10 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) shed 8.70% or 10.00 points to 105.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 52 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.53% or 0.34 to $63.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.55% or 0.38 to hit $68.93 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 8.20 to trade at $1335.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.18% to 214.115, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 90.12.
