Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Diversified Holdings and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.45% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Bukit Darah PLC (CM:BUKI) added 22.68% or 49.90 points to end at 269.90 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 20.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which lost 17.47% or 301.60 points to trade at 1425.00 in late trade. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 12.79% or 4.40 points to end at 30.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 63 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.92% or 0.56 to $60.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.57% or 0.37 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1317.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 214.775, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 154.320.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 90.21.
