Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.39% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) added 26.53% or 1.30 points to end at 6.20 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 16.67% or 0.1000 points to 0.7000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 24.29% or 3112.50 points to trade at 9700.00 in late trade. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) declined 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.400 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) shed 11.65% or 2.90 points to 22.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 86 and 62 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.22% or 0.61 to $50.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.14% or 0.63 to hit $55.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 8.07 to trade at $1318.67 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 206.880, while USD/LKR fell 0.20% to 152.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 91.48.
