Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Plantations, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV), which rose 28.12% or 1.800 points to trade at 8.200 at the close. Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) added 24.49% or 12.00 points to end at 61.00 and Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC (CM:CFLB) was up 24.35% or 4.70 points to 24.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which lost 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 in late trade. PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) declined 50.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.100 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) shed 16.67% or 0.200 points to 1.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 54 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $49.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.16% or 0.09 to hit $55.56 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.58 to trade at $1328.72 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.41% to 207.720, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 152.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 91.86.
