Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Land & Property and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 20.50% or 11.40 points to trade at 67.00 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was up 18.42% or 0.700 points to 4.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 21.95% or 2812.50 points to trade at 10000.00 in late trade. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 19.87% or 297.60 points to end at 1200.00 and Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) shed 12.41% or 57.40 points to 405.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 125 to 54 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.36% or 0.25 to $70.08 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.73% or 0.54 to hit $73.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.40 to trade at $1241.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.73% to 209.450, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 159.590.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 94.94.
