Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Banking, Financials & Insurance and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.20% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) added 22.46% or 8.40 points to end at 45.80 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 15.38% or 4.00 points to 30.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which lost 14.29% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.20 in late trade. Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) declined 10.93% or 5.90 points to end at 48.10 and Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC (CM:BOGA) shed 10.32% or 1.60 points to 13.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 72 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.44% or 0.22 to $50.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.41% or 0.23 to hit $55.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.17 to trade at $1282.07 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.33% to 203.740, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 153.340.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 93.14.
