Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 656.50 at the close. MTD Walkers PLC (CM:KAPI) added 24.55% or 2.70 points to end at 13.70 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 21.60% or 301.60 points to 1698.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.4000 in late trade. Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) declined 18.75% or 12.00 points to end at 52.00 and Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) shed 14.75% or 8.70 points to 50.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 66 and 49 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.21% or 0.15 to $69.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.57% or 0.44 to hit $78.08 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1207.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.63% to 208.030, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 161.590.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.06.
