Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Beverages & Tobacco and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.16% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) added 16.83% or 3.40 points to end at 23.60 and Anilana Hotels & Properties Ltd (CM:ANIL) was up 15.38% or 0.200 points to 1.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 12.26% or 181.70 points to trade at 1300.00 in late trade. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Hemas Power PLC (CM:HPWR) shed 9.05% or 1.90 points to 19.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 73 and 50 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.90% or 0.96 to $51.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.24% or 1.26 to hit $57.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.69 to trade at $1295.81 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.78% to 204.070, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 92.93.
