Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Palm Oil and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) was up 12.11% or 140.40 points to 1300.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV), which lost 10.48% or 36.40 points to trade at 311.00 in late trade. Amaya Leisure PLC (CM:CONN) declined 10.17% or 6.00 points to end at 53.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) shed 7.69% or 0.100 points to 1.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 85 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.22% or 0.12 to $54.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $60.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.60 to trade at $1274.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.03% to 202.940, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.610.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.53.
