Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which rose 15.38% or 2.00 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) was up 12.93% or 1.90 points to 16.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 19.69% or 291.70 points to trade at 1190.00 in late trade. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 13.66% or 5.30 points to end at 33.50 and Amaya Leisure PLC (CM:CONN) shed 13.02% or 7.80 points to 52.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 85 to 79 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.65% or 0.32 to $49.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.63% or 0.35 to hit $55.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.45 to trade at $1329.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.18% to 201.890, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 152.900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 92.33.
