Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Plantations sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.08%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL), which rose 25.00% or 10.10 points to trade at 50.50 at the close. Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 134.50 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.900 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which lost 24.88% or 372.60 points to trade at 1125.00 in late trade. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) declined 18.78% or 13.90 points to end at 60.10 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) shed 12.49% or 11.00 points to 77.10.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 87 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $67.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.20% or 0.15 to hit $73.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.70 to trade at $1312.30 a troy ounce.

GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 214.590, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 157.810.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.30.
