Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 134.50 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 15.66% or 10.40 points to trade at 56.00 in late trade. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 13.64% or 6.00 points to end at 38.00 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) shed 12.99% or 3.00 points to 20.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 86 to 70 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.95% or 0.65 to $67.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.76% or 0.57 to hit $74.12 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 10.20 to trade at $1309.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.46% to 216.005, while USD/LKR unchanged 0.00% to 157.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 92.03.
