Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare and Motors sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Sinhaputhra Finance PLC (CM:SFL) was up 14.56% or 1.50 points to 11.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which lost 22.01% or 314.60 points to trade at 1115.00 in late trade. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 15.48% or 239.90 points to end at 1310.10 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) shed 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 84 and 59 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.28% or 0.14 to $49.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.57% or 0.31 to hit $54.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 6.08 to trade at $1345.08 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.01% to 199.590, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 152.660.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 91.83.
