Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG), which rose 2.66% or 0.192 points to trade at 7.400 at the close. Endesa (MADRID:ELE) added 0.80% or 0.147 points to end at 18.593 and Mediaset ESP (MADRID:TL5) was up 0.72% or 0.075 points to 10.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Abengoa B (MADRID:ABGek), which lost 8.93% or 0.092 points to trade at 0.938 in late trade. Indra A (MADRID:IDR) declined 2.73% or 0.280 points to end at 9.990 and Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) shed 2.61% or 0.345 points to 12.860.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 119 to 86 and 6 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.43% or 4.90 to $1134.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.52% or 1.60 to hit $43.81 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.51% or 1.25 to trade at $48.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.1245, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.7346.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 95.80.
