Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 1.76% or 0.025 points to trade at 1.447 at the close. Viscofan (MC:VIS) added 1.38% or 0.655 points to end at 48.195 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was up 1.23% or 0.205 points to 16.865 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bankinter (MC:BKT), which lost 2.19% or 0.162 points to trade at 7.244 in late trade. Banco Santander (MC:SAN) declined 1.99% or 0.104 points to end at 5.118 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) shed 1.85% or 0.064 points to 3.397.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 83 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.34% or 4.25 to $1236.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.98% or 1.05 to hit $51.96 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.58% or 0.88 to trade at $54.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.0697, while EUR/GBP fell 0.63% to 0.8566.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 100.24.
