Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.19% or 0.112 points to trade at 5.236 at the close. Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) added 1.85% or 0.094 points to end at 5.163 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) was up 1.30% or 0.027 points to 2.099 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BBVA (MC:BBVA), which lost 2.81% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.195 in late trade. Repsol (MC:REP) declined 0.86% or 0.105 points to end at 12.040 and Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) shed 0.47% or 0.065 points to 13.625.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 62 and 27 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.08% or 1.05 to $1328.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.65% or 0.77 to hit $45.88 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.68% or 0.80 to trade at $46.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.1068, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8348.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.59.
