Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.67% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG), which rose 3.32% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.96 at the close. Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) added 2.75% or 0.45 points to end at 16.84 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) was up 2.50% or 0.45 points to 18.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI), which lost 7.21% or 6.15 points to trade at 79.10 in late trade. Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) declined 5.81% or 0.30 points to end at 4.88 and Bankinter (BME:BKT) shed 5.40% or 0.41 points to 7.21.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 143 to 52 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.25 to $2,481.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.15% or 2.40 to hit $73.91 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.80% or 2.23 to trade at $77.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.05% at 103.11.
