Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 3.56% or 0.920 points to trade at 26.725 at the close. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 1.22% or 0.710 points to end at 58.790 and Viscofan (MC:VIS) was up 0.61% or 0.310 points to 51.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 3.55% or 0.440 points to trade at 11.940 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 2.71% or 0.047 points to end at 1.687 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) shed 2.51% or 0.310 points to 12.060.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 66 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.71% or 9.06 to $1269.04 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.47% or 0.80 to hit $55.34 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.77% or 1.07 to trade at $61.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1608, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8884.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 94.87.
