Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 1.70% or 0.161 points to trade at 9.644 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 1.43% or 0.380 points to end at 27.030 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 1.34% or 0.315 points to 23.865 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which lost 3.79% or 0.162 points to trade at 4.110 in late trade. Mapfre (MC:MAP) declined 3.17% or 0.090 points to end at 2.753 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) shed 2.82% or 0.610 points to 21.040.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 110 to 63 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.05% or 13.65 to $1311.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.25% or 1.14 to hit $51.80 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.64% or 1.49 to trade at $57.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.95% to 1.1844, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.57% at 92.47.
