Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Abertis Infr (MC:ABE), which rose 1.03% or 0.180 points to trade at 17.650 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 1.00% or 0.260 points to end at 26.155 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 0.77% or 0.240 points to 31.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 6.30% or 0.790 points to trade at 11.740 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 2.80% or 0.047 points to end at 1.634 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) shed 1.75% or 0.128 points to 7.204.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 73 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.68 to $1306.28 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.82% or 0.42 to hit $51.87 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.60 to trade at $57.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1811, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8890.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 92.98.
