Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.67% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which rose 9.79% or 1.12 points to trade at 12.56 at the close. Ferrovial (BME:FER) added 1.33% or 0.48 points to end at 36.62 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) was up 1.16% or 0.24 points to 20.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL), which lost 2.51% or 0.16 points to trade at 6.01 in late trade. Amadeus IT (BME:AMA) declined 2.22% or 1.46 points to end at 64.20 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) shed 2.17% or 0.04 points to 1.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 139 to 59 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.23% or 28.40 to $2,346.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $78.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $82.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 105.21.
