Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.48% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 1.37% or 0.175 points to trade at 12.985 at the close. Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (MC:COL) added 1.21% or 0.098 points to end at 8.223 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) was up 0.83% or 0.155 points to 18.805 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA), which lost 2.81% or 4.60 points to trade at 159.20 in late trade. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) declined 2.04% or 0.086 points to end at 4.120 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) shed 1.55% or 0.045 points to 2.858.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 108 to 57 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.96 to $1342.54 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.17% or 0.57 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.27% or 0.68 to trade at $54.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1927, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.9135.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 92.11.
