Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 2.34% or 0.218 points to trade at 9.534 at the close. Indra A (MC:IDR) added 1.16% or 0.150 points to end at 13.115 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was up 0.93% or 0.300 points to 32.645 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 4.50% or 0.520 points to trade at 11.045 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 3.35% or 0.825 points to end at 23.780 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) shed 1.53% or 0.29 points to 19.04.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 73 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.36 to $1326.94 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $55.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1958, while EUR/GBP fell 0.92% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 91.80.
