Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Repsol (BME:REP), which rose 0.72% or 0.11 points to trade at 14.70 at the close. Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) added 0.65% or 0.16 points to end at 24.86 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) was up 0.60% or 0.11 points to 18.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which lost 2.46% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.12 in late trade. Aena SME SA (BME:AENA) declined 1.95% or 3.60 points to end at 181.10 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS) shed 1.55% or 0.64 points to 40.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 131 to 75 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.05% or 1.20 to $2,326.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.45% or 1.85 to hit $77.38 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.19% or 1.74 to trade at $81.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.79.
