Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 2.67% or 0.243 points to trade at 9.346 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 2.40% or 0.575 points to end at 24.570 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) was up 2.23% or 0.255 points to 11.690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 3.36% or 0.331 points to trade at 9.510 in late trade. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 2.67% or 0.108 points to end at 3.938 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) shed 1.74% or 0.067 points to 3.791.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 87 and 13 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.59% or 7.49 to $1282.79 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.57% or 0.32 to hit $56.74 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.24 to trade at $62.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1742, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8873.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 93.88.
