Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which rose 2.99% or 0.56 points to trade at 19.29 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 2.78% or 0.23 points to end at 8.52 and Indra A (BME:IDR) was up 2.27% or 0.39 points to 17.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which lost 4.35% or 0.98 points to trade at 21.53 in late trade. Amadeus IT (BME:AMA) declined 1.92% or 1.32 points to end at 67.32 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) shed 1.51% or 0.06 points to 3.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 111 to 84 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.50% or 13.40 to $2,655.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.26% or 0.92 to hit $74.05 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.61 to trade at $76.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 108.76.
