Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.90% or 0.715 points to trade at 25.340 at the close. Acerinox (MC:ACX) added 2.55% or 0.315 points to end at 12.650 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 1.94% or 0.655 points to 34.510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE), which lost 3.73% or 0.710 points to trade at 18.300 in late trade. Inditex (MC:ITX) declined 1.95% or 0.625 points to end at 31.470 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) shed 1.52% or 0.375 points to 24.355.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 79 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 6.17 to $1276.67 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $54.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.31 to trade at $60.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1627, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8762.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.60.
