Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Unicaja Banco SA (BME:UNI), which rose 1.85% or 0.02 points to trade at 1.27 at the close. Bankinter (BME:BKT) added 1.71% or 0.13 points to end at 7.84 and Indra A (BME:IDR) was up 1.48% or 0.30 points to 20.62 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL), which lost 7.52% or 0.46 points to trade at 5.59 in late trade. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) declined 5.54% or 0.51 points to end at 8.69 and Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) shed 2.13% or 0.68 points to 31.31.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 128 to 74 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.80 to $2,345.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $80.68 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $85.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.82.
