Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which rose 2.86% or 0.66 points to trade at 23.74 at the close. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:SGREN) added 2.46% or 0.300 points to end at 12.495 and Inditex (MC:ITX) was up 1.43% or 0.380 points to 26.930 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which lost 3.93% or 0.920 points to trade at 22.500 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) declined 3.30% or 0.669 points to end at 19.600 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) shed 3.27% or 0.167 points to 4.918.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 80 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.85% or 10.40 to $1218.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.74% or 0.90 to hit $50.73 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.55% or 0.94 to trade at $59.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1283, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8861.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 97.368.
