Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MADRID:IDR), which rose 4.44% or 0.490 points to trade at 11.515 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MADRID:TL5) added 3.67% or 0.435 points to end at 12.295 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) was up 3.03% or 0.290 points to 9.855 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bankia (MADRID:BKIA), which lost 1.70% or 0.022 points to trade at 1.271 in late trade. Endesa (MADRID:ELE) declined 0.87% or 0.163 points to end at 18.543 and Jazztel (MADRID:JAZ) shed 0.39% or 0.050 points to 12.745.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 149 to 58 and 6 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 2.43% or 28.60 to $1203.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.17% or 0.10 to hit $57.25 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.10 to trade at $65.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0919, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.7158.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 96.66.
