Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS), which rose 3.09% or 1.070 points to trade at 35.660 at the close. Acciona (MC:ANA) added 2.88% or 2.270 points to end at 80.970 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 2.78% or 0.46 points to 16.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 7.94% or 0.575 points to trade at 6.670 in late trade. Banco Popular (MC:POP) declined 4.57% or 0.036 points to end at 0.752 and Indra A (MC:IDR) shed 4.31% or 0.550 points to 12.200.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 72 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.31% or 3.77 to $1227.97 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.36% or 0.17 to hit $47.66 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.09 to trade at $50.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.0918, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 99.17.
