Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MADRID:GAM), which rose 6.01% or 0.785 points to trade at 13.855 at the close. Indra A (MADRID:IDR) added 4.08% or 0.360 points to end at 9.180 and Grifols (MADRID:GRLS) was up 2.63% or 0.935 points to 36.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG), which lost 1.00% or 0.070 points to trade at 6.960 in late trade. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MADRID:OHL) declined 0.97% or 0.140 points to end at 14.350 and Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS) shed 0.89% or 0.085 points to 9.465.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 103 and 4 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.42% or 5.00 to $1180.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.68% or 0.41 to hit $60.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.40% or 0.26 to trade at $63.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1232, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.7182.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.29% at 95.34.
