Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 6.86% or 0.117 points to trade at 1.823 at the close. Mapfre (MC:MAP) added 5.18% or 0.139 points to end at 2.821 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 4.39% or 0.181 points to 4.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Viscofan (MC:VIS), which lost 0.52% or 0.270 points to trade at 51.480 in late trade. Iberdrola (MC:IBE) declined 0.50% or 0.033 points to end at 6.600 and Endesa (MC:ELE) shed 0.36% or 0.070 points to 19.225.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 54 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.87% or 11.27 to $1290.43 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.40% or 0.21 to hit $52.09 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.47 to trade at $57.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1767, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.08.
