Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:BBVA), which rose 4.57% or 0.43 points to trade at 9.74 at the close. Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE) added 4.13% or 0.08 points to end at 1.94 and Banco Santander (BME:SAN) was up 3.44% or 0.15 points to 4.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which lost 5.01% or 0.43 points to trade at 8.06 in late trade. Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) declined 1.50% or 0.29 points to end at 19.00 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) shed 1.33% or 0.32 points to 23.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 75 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.14% or 3.79 to $2,650.91 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.16% or 0.12 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.22% or 0.17 to trade at $76.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.75% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 108.14.
