Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 1.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (BME:ACS), which rose 5.43% or 2.40 points to trade at 46.60 at the close. Ferrovial (BME:FER) added 2.62% or 1.04 points to end at 40.70 and Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) was up 2.31% or 1.24 points to 54.92 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which lost 2.12% or 0.43 points to trade at 19.87 in late trade. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) declined 1.71% or 1.10 points to end at 63.10 and Acciona (BME:ANA) shed 1.50% or 1.80 points to 118.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 73 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.43% or 11.34 to $2,669.84 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.01% or 2.05 to hit $70.15 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.71% or 1.95 to trade at $73.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 106.22.
