Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which rose 2.13% or 0.46 points to trade at 22.08 at the close. Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) added 2.07% or 0.11 points to end at 5.43 and Fluidra (BME:FLUI) was up 1.89% or 0.40 points to 21.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb), which lost 1.89% or 0.40 points to trade at 20.80 in late trade. Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) declined 0.35% or 0.08 points to end at 22.86 and Telefonica (BME:TEF) shed 0.19% or 0.01 points to 4.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 137 to 65 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 5.85 to $2,530.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.15% or 0.78 to hit $68.45 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.55 to trade at $71.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.51.
