Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco Santander (MC:SAN), which rose 1.97% or 0.105 points to trade at 5.440 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) added 1.88% or 0.123 points to end at 6.651 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.86% or 0.260 points to 14.220 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 3.33% or 0.302 points to trade at 8.754 in late trade. Indra A (MC:IDR) declined 2.51% or 0.290 points to end at 11.260 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) shed 1.90% or 0.230 points to 11.900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 95 to 87 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.40% or 5.30 to $1312.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.65% or 1.01 to hit $62.20 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.40% or 0.91 to trade at $66.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.2280, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 90.26.
