Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Banco de Sabadell SA (BME:SABE), which rose 2.05% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.04 at the close. Amadeus IT (BME:AMA) added 1.32% or 0.80 points to end at 61.36 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) was up 1.28% or 0.28 points to 22.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which lost 1.53% or 0.32 points to trade at 20.55 in late trade. Acerinox (BME:ACX) declined 1.47% or 0.14 points to end at 9.37 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) shed 1.45% or 0.27 points to 18.33.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 101 to 99 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.45% or 10.70 to $2,405.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.07% or 1.62 to hit $76.78 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.83% or 1.51 to trade at $80.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.18.
