Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Building & Construction and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which rose 3.99% or 2.000 points to trade at 52.070 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 2.54% or 0.47 points to end at 18.76 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 2.42% or 0.560 points to 23.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inditex (MC:ITX), which lost 3.60% or 1.190 points to trade at 31.915 in late trade. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) declined 0.71% or 0.038 points to end at 5.316 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) shed 0.40% or 0.050 points to 12.350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 122 to 42 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.68% or 9.00 to $1323.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.57% or 1.18 to hit $47.14 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 3.61% or 1.83 to trade at $52.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1879, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.9215.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 92.84.
