Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 3.37% or 0.375 points to trade at 11.520 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) added 2.45% or 0.164 points to end at 6.859 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 1.31% or 0.25 points to 19.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 1.72% or 0.390 points to trade at 22.340 in late trade. Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) declined 1.55% or 2.45 points to end at 156.00 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) shed 1.14% or 0.140 points to 12.140.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 85 to 81 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.16 to $1310.64 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.93% or 0.47 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.90% or 0.50 to trade at $54.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1969, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8878.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 91.78.
