Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mapfre (BME:MAP), which rose 3.57% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.26 at the close. Fluidra (BME:FLUI) added 2.83% or 0.56 points to end at 20.34 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) was up 2.72% or 0.50 points to 18.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Repsol (BME:REP), which lost 1.03% or 0.14 points to trade at 13.02 in late trade. Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) declined 0.59% or 0.03 points to end at 5.42 and Amadeus IT (BME:AMA) shed 0.56% or 0.34 points to 60.24.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 81 and 30 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.30% or 30.50 to $2,384.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.47% or 1.15 to hit $77.13 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.57% or 1.29 to trade at $81.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.04.
