Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankinter (BME:BKT), which rose 2.56% or 0.19 points to trade at 7.78 at the close. Caixabank SA (BME:CABK) added 2.56% or 0.13 points to end at 5.13 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) was up 2.49% or 0.21 points to 8.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iberdrola (BME:IBE), which lost 3.62% or 0.44 points to trade at 11.84 in late trade. Repsol (BME:REP) declined 1.94% or 0.29 points to end at 14.63 and Aena SME SA (BME:AENA) shed 0.10% or 0.20 points to 191.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 146 to 58 and 24 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.14% or 3.40 to $2,366.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $83.87 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.11 to trade at $87.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 104.81.
