Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which rose 1.47% or 0.16 points to trade at 11.05 at the close. Sacyr SA (BME:SCYR) added 0.85% or 0.03 points to end at 3.09 and Endesa SA (BME:ELE) was up 0.82% or 0.15 points to 17.92 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb), which lost 1.93% or 0.45 points to trade at 22.82 in late trade. Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) declined 0.99% or 0.34 points to end at 34.04 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) shed 0.92% or 0.05 points to 5.36.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 70 and 46 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.18% or 29.20 to $2,502.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.45% or 1.88 to hit $78.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 1.57 to trade at $81.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.00.
